Accessible video lessons, without a separate workflow
Accommodations usually mean a second version of the assignment. In ViewCue they are a layer on the same lesson — so the student who needs read-aloud and the student who does not are doing identical work.
What students can control
- Read-aloud text-to-speech for questions, options, and feedback

What teachers can set
Accommodations resolve in three layers. A class baseline applies to everyone in the class. An individual override set from the roster handles a specific IEP or 504 plan. The student's own preference sits on top — but it can never drop below a floor a teacher has set, so a required accommodation stays required.
Settings follow the student into every assignment automatically. There is no per-lesson checklist to remember.
Screen reader and keyboard support
The quiz was built and tested against real screen-reader use, not just an automated audit. Questions are announced when they appear. Answer options are a true radio-group pattern with arrow-key navigation. Focus moves deliberately as each question opens. While a question is active the video player is marked inert, so screen-reader navigation keys are not swallowed by the embedded player — a failure mode that breaks most video quiz tools.
Feedback never relies on colour alone: correct and incorrect states carry text and iconography as well.
Common questions
Can questions be read aloud to students?
Yes. Text-to-speech reads the question, the answer options, and the feedback. Students can control the voice and reading speed, and teachers can set a baseline for a whole class.
Does ViewCue support dyslexia-friendly fonts?
Yes. Students can switch to OpenDyslexic or Lexend, and adjust text size, line height, and letter spacing independently.
Can I set accommodations for a student's IEP?
Teachers can set per-student accommodations from the class roster, or a class-wide baseline. A teacher-set floor cannot be turned down by the student, so an IEP accommodation stays in place.
Does the quiz work with a screen reader?
Yes. Questions are announced when they appear, options are a proper keyboard-navigable radio group, and the video player is made inert while a question is active so screen-reader navigation keys keep working.
