Privacy Policy

ViewCue ("we") provides an interactive video quiz platform for teachers and students. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and how we protect it. We are committed to protecting student privacy and complying with FERPA and COPPA.

• Account information: teacher and student names and email addresses used to create accounts.
• Usage data: quizzes created, questions, video URLs added, student responses, scores, and progress.
• Technical data: basic log and device data needed to operate the service.

We do not knowingly collect more student personal information than is needed to provide the educational service.

We use information to provide the service — letting teachers create assignments, students complete them, and teachers view results and progress. We do not sell personal information, and we do not use student data for advertising or marketing.

For students, ViewCue acts as a service provider to the teacher and school. Student data is processed on behalf of and under the direction of the school. Where required for students under 13 (COPPA), consent is obtained through the school or teacher acting as the school's authority, consistent with the school-consent model. Schools and teachers control student data and may request access, correction, or deletion.

Data is stored securely with access controls (row-level security) so users can only access data they're authorized to see. Students cannot access other students' data, and teachers access only their own classes. Access to privileged operations is restricted.

We use trusted providers to operate ViewCue:

• Supabase — database, authentication, and hosting.
• Anthropic — AI question generation from transcripts.
• Supadata — video transcript retrieval.
• YouTube — video playback.

These providers process data only as needed to provide their function.

We retain data while an account is active and as needed to provide the service. Teachers and schools may request deletion of student data. Deletion requests can be made via our contact email at privacy@getviewcue.com.

Parents may exercise rights through the student's school. Schools may contact us to access or delete student records.

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
